99% Invisible is a design podcast out of Oakland, California. As you have probably guessed, it is a product of public radio! I like like it because they are 15-30 minute podcasts about what I see as a slice of 'Americana'.
Jonathan Kozol has been writing about poverty in New York City for over 25 years, this is the first book I have read by him.
I finally got around to reading The Jungle by Upton Sinclair. I thought it an excellent book that is surprisingly relevant today.
