There is so much ground to cover. Let's see if I can give an overview yet capture some of the moments of the past couple of weeks.
The Final Days
The final days are upon us, full of massages given, trips with the outreach team, and thankfully, some quiet, intentional moments to try to prepare for our departure. Thanks for joining us on this journey. I can't believe that this will be my last blog post while physically being in Thailand. I plan to blog as we travel and transition home, but this is the final sign-off from Thailand. How bizarre.
The sky is crying
The sky is crying in Thailand. Find out why, and other updates from our week. Disclaimer: I wrote this blog a week ago, so imagine it was a week ago & it will feel more current.
Life is good.
Life is good, but could it be better? A brief reflection as the flurry of preparations winds down...
Time and goodbyes
I have been thinking about time, and how our perception of it changes. It seems to be marching on, whether we are ready for it or not - whether or not our apartment is packed up, or I have given enough hugs to you lovely people, or I get enough items accomplished on my to-do list before we depart.
The First of Many
Recently we celebrated my parents' 50th wedding anniversary in the Detroit area, and 5 of us 6 children were there. That's the first time in many years we had been together.
John tells me that I keep on using the word surreal. But it feels like the right word right now. It was a little surreal to see my family all together. It still feels surreal that we are going to Thailand in a couple of months.
